Standing Hugging a Tree.
Starting in Bear stance with the feet below your hips toes pointing forwards, feeling your feet, let them open up and spread out,
then up to your knees, are they soft and relaxed,
then up to your hips, are you pushing backwards or forwards pushing to much tension in them, then up the spine to your shoulders, are they lose soft and relaxed letting your arms hang freely,
then up the neck to your head, is your chin pulling down towards your chest or hunching your neck in, let it loosen up and relax letting everything drain into your feet.
Now bring your arms up in front of the body with the palms facing in finger tips pointing towards each other but not touching, elbows relaxed down as if you are hugging a big tree, softening the body so you can fully embrace it.
Then listen to your breathing connecting with it, softening it then expanding it.
Feel the energy of the tree.
This is often called standing meditation and can often been done for a short few minutes or prolonged periods of an hour or so.
This exercise can be a chalange at fist, standuing still in one place can be very exausting for the body and mind so only do this exercise for longer periods only if the body and mind are completly relaxed, do not use this exercise as punishment "I WILL STAND HERE FOR 10min" it is for exending your body and mind slowly and very gradually and enjoying the relaxing moment!.
