The most popular and most studied is the hand form. The hand form is a series of 140 movements which are divided into 42 sets, within these sets there are 13 basic stances used to do the hand form at a slow relaxed speed. The hand form is done in a standing position using the breath to control the speed of the movement transferring the body weight from one stance into the next.
When doing the slow physical movements and co-ordination of the breath, this stimulates and unblocks our internal energy so it can flow freely, relaxing our muscles and mind giving us meditation in movement.
T'ai Chi can give us health vitality and longevity by toning and revitalizing the whole body, strengthening the joints, improving our posture, reducing stress which promotes confidence and self esteem.
T'ai Chi is much more of an Art form than a sport as there are no winners or losers when practising T'ai Chi.
